The International Diplomacy students had their final security council debates today after a week of deliberation, research, and negotiation. These students tackled complicated issues facing the world today like the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, climate change, and the conflict in Venezuela. They were tasked with coming to some sort of agreement between all of the “countries”, represented by students. This project allowed the students to experience what it would be like to work on the United Nations security council. After thoughtful and passionate debates, the Security Council passed their resolutions! The International Diplomacy students had an amazing time meeting new people who share their interests, discussing and learning about global issues, and building their leadership skills. A better tomorrow is on the horizon with young people like the NSLC International Diplomacy students leading!
